Photoshoot

My good friend Allison was in town last week and was able to take these amazing pics of the girls. We had so much fun! We took these pics at Trolley Square and we had some people stop and ask what magazine these pics were for b/c I hauled up a few chairs, had snacks, drinks and was basically a maniac trying to get all the girls to cooperate at one time! I only wish Mykee could have been here too while Allison was visting so then I would have all my girls in it. Hmm.. maybe next year. :) Anyway, she is such an talented photographer!! I have had her photograph the girls since Alexandra was little. You can view her work here. I love these pics so much...I might have to dedicate one wall to all the tutu pics..I want them all! Enjoy some of the darling pics she took.

Fathers Day was extra special this year because Bryton was able to share the day with us! Typically, he and Mykee arrive together but this year we thought we would try something new by staggering their visits, which gave us more one-on-one time with each of them. Anyway, his flight was supposed to arrive on Father's Day at 4:30 but was delayed 2 hours due to electrical problems. Poor guy had to sit in the plane on the tarmack for 2 hours with no a/c in the Arizona heat!!!! If it were me I am sure I would have melted. :) Luckily, the problems were fixed and he made it to enjoy his summer visit with us and attend EFY (can you believe he is almost 15?? AHH!!! ).
When he finally made it to the house he was a celebrity....all the kids LOVED having an older brother/cousin around, as you can see....
Bryton had a great time at EFY! For those of you who don't know, EFY is a gospel centered conveference that creates a setting where youth have the opportunity to develop spiritually, physically, intellectually and socially. I was able to take him to check in and get settled in his dorm. He roomed with his friend Collin from AZ. He met some great new friends and had a very memorable experience! He is looking forward to going again next year.

We miss you Bryton!

I am really behind in blogging but oh well, right? Chelsea (Carter's sis) and Brian made the trip up from AZ in June. They stayed for a week and we enjoyed having some boys in the house! Here are some highlights....

Fourth of July

We had a great fourth! We ended up getting tickets to the coveted Stadium of Fire! Wahoo! After months of trying...it finally panned out the day before the show! Phew. Anyway, we had a great day spending time together.

Mykee and Alex auditioned to be the Radio Disney/Comcast "kid-caster" (kids ages 8-14) for the Stadium of Fire. The "kid-caster" would have the chance to interview people coming to the Stadium of Fire and be broadcast on Radio Disney and receive 5 tickets to the sold out Stadium of Fire featuring Miley Cyrus (aka Hannah Montana). My dad told me about the auditions and thought the girls would love it! Mykee was super excited and so was Alex but then her nerves set in and I wasn't sure if she was going to go through w/ it or not. There were around 50 other kids there and they were given a script while in line. Then when it was their turn they were given the microphone and placed in front of the TV camera. Of the two Mykee went first and of course did awesome! Alex went second and turned on the charm and did awesome as well!

Both were chosen as top ten finalists!! Then from there the top 10 were asked to interview one of the Radio Disney reps on camera. Then the judges chose 5 finalists and from those 5 their names were placed in a drawing to become the "kid-caster"..so it really was the luck of the draw. Mykee made the top 5 and was drawn out as the 3rd runner up and given tickets to the Corbin Bleu concert in August. I was so proud!! I had no idea how emotional these things make me...tears were welling up in my eyes watching the two of them. I am so blessed to be a mom to these talented girls! They had a blast doing this and were so happy that together they made the top ten! It will be something they will always remember!
