Christmas Eve

It was snowing on Christmas Eve which made the night even more magical. We had a yummy dinner at my mom and dad's, opened our Christmas jammies and went to see the festival of lights! We then made it back to our neighborhood to see all the paper sack laterns lit in our cult-a-sac. It created such a peaceful atmosphere with the newly fallen snow. Late at night Santa's jingle bells were heard throughout the neighborhood.

All three girls were going to sleep in Alex's room but when it came time for bed Kennedy opted to stay in her own comfy bed. Probably a better choice for her cuz Alex & Syd are crazy sleepers..all over the place. :)

This was the snow fall at about 1:00am. :)

Who doesn't love a little Mo-Tab?

Friday night we were lucky enough to score tickets to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas concert with guest performers The King Singers (thx to Marni & Landon). These were the hottest ticket in town!! I guess there were over a million requests for tickets and only 60,000 available over the 4 performances. Marni scored tickets and we were the lucky recepients of the 2 extra she had. It was mayhem trying to even get into the conference center, but was so worth it! The First Presidency were in attendance and were front row. The music was awesome and brought such a great spirit.. I must admit though, Marni and I had fun looking at the big screens watching the different faces the men & women of the choir pull while singing. hee hee. After we went for Sushi...when I say "we" I mean Landon & Carter..Marni and I were hoping for some good noodles but to no avail. It was fun though and the boys love their Sushi. It was a wonderful way to take part celebrating the Christmas season.

Delightful Dinner

Last week we were invited to the Higginson's to enjoy their annual Christmas dinner, which is always fabulous! They put together the best dinner! It was fun to visit with them and the Johnson & Johnson's (he he)and listen to all of Jeff's funny stories.

After dinner we played MAD GAB which is super fun and can get a little competitive. It was boys vs girls and the girls of course pulled it out at the end and won!! Thanks Jeff & Abby for inviting us!

Finally!!

After weeks of trying I think I finally got this video to work. This is Mykee wrapped up in a box to surprise Alex for her birthday (see a few posts below)!! Oh, it was the best!

What a Weekend!

Saturday was super busy for our family. It all started at 8:30am when we ventured out in the snow storm to Orem to attend my mom's work Christmas party for the kids. We watched Surf's Up at the movie theater and was given treat bags and gift bags w/ all the holiday trinkets the little one's desire. Santa made his appearance and the kids put in their wishlist.

Then it was off to the mall to find out what dad wants for Christmas....2 hours later we are in the car headed to Sandy this time to the Festival of Trees. Alex's class decorated and donated a sports-themed tree that we spent a good hour looking for....it was one of the very last rows we decided to tour. Phew...we were worried we weren't going to find it. That place is huge! I love looking at all the trees though and of course we did not get out of there without the kids doing some sort of craft (note the reindeer antlers on their heads). Here is the pic of Alex's class tree.

I thought this was a unique idea for a tree...it was turned upside down and made to be a fairy forest.

Both Carter and I got a kick out of this one..Star Wars is a family favorite.

After the Festival we piled the kids in the car and made a quick stop to a fitness store. The kids wanted to stay in the car and finish watching Home Alone. We allowed it because we could see them from inside the store. Anyway, when we return we find that Kennedy has lost a tooth. WHAT??? She is 4. I feel it is a little early..however, she has been dying to lose a tooth and has secretly wiggled them. Apparently she had a loose one because all it took was Syd getting annoyed with her and hit her mouth...out popped the tooth, no blood, no crying. She wasn't upset by Syd's retaliation..she was psyched!!
Hours before.. all teeth in tact. Ironic I took this random picture at lunch.

After 15 minutes in the car with an upset 3 year old sister...she is spreading the good news!!

She was really excited to call her cousin Easton who just lost a tooth a few weeks ago and she was super jealous!
We made a pit stop at home then off the the Ward Christmas Party....we were all beat by the time we finally made it home for good. Fun weekend! Let the holiday season begin!!!

I Couldn't Resist

Posting these adorable pics of Kennedy & Lily as babies...at the time Chelsea and I were trying to see our flower headbands and wanted our cute babies to be our models. These crack me up everytime I see them..Lily did not enjoy being in a pot!!! Enjoy!!

An Enchanted Evening

Kennedy was invited by her best friend Lily to go see the movie "Enchanted" for Lily's birthday, just the two of them for a special day. They dressed up as their favorite princesses and enjoyed some popcorn and good treats!! They have been friends since they were little babies and love to play together so this was fun for them to be together. After the movie Chelsea & I took the girls to Red Robin to get a bite to eat. The had the best time eating their spaghetti!!! Chels and I were laughing so hard!!! Thanks for a fun night Lily & HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Kennedy's New "Do"

Kennedy has been dying for a hair cut. She wanted her hair to look like her good friend Audrey's. We agreed we would cut it after her appearance as "Belle" on Halloween. I must say she looks adorable!!! Love you and your fabulous new "do" Kenny!!!

Sweet

Ultimate Surprise

It has been super busy around here lately and I have neglected my blog...but I'm back!! We celebrated Alexandra’s birthday last weekend and she got the surprise of her life!!! We had secretly arranged for her big sister Mykee to fly in from Arizona. Mykee saved up some of her hard earned money for the flight to Utah with a little help from us. Alex had no idea that she would be coming. Carter picked Mykee up at the airport last Friday night. I had pre-wrapped a box (thanks to Susie for the box)that she could just climb into once she got to the house. When she arrived at the house, she hopped in the box, we taped it shut and then Carter went to get Alex to tell her she had a special present she could open a few days before her birthday. She was loving how big the box was...I am sure she was thinking that this was going to be an awesome present. When she opened up the big box and Mykee climbed out….. she was completely speechless!!!! I thought for sure she would scream, but I think she was trying to comprehend how Mykee got here and was in the box. Too funny!!! We had a great weekend celebrating her birthday…I was hoping to post the video of her opening the box but everytime I try it doesn't work. If I can get it to work I will post it later. :) It was the best!!! When asked what her favorite present was she replied without hesitation "MYKEE!". Mykee is back home now but she was able to spend an entire week with us. We miss her and can't wait until she and Bryton come over the Christmas break.

TAGGED!

I have been tagged by my friend Jenny...here it goes

Husband...

What is his name? Carter a.k.a Big "C" (that is for your enjoyment Chelsidy) :)

How long have you been together? We will celebrate 10 years in 2008. We met on New Years Eve just before midnight, so needless to say that holiday has a special place in our hearts!!

Who eats more? Definitely him

Who said I love you first? He did :)

Who is taller? That would be him!!!

Who sings better? I do, but I give him an A for effort!

Who is smarter? Hmmm.. we have our strengths in different areas I would have to put us as equals ..I know there are things he knows that I could not even want to comprehend and vice versa.

Who does the laundry? I do mostly.

Who does the dishes? He does if he makes it home in time to eat dinner w/ us. I do if he is not here.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do at home, but if we are anywhere else he seems to take the right. It doesn't make sense but it always ends up that way and I laugh about it.

Who pays the bills? He does though I think he is ready to have me take over.

Who mows the lawn? The past 3 summers I have, he was busy finishing the basement, various projects throughout the house and then work, work, work. I enjoy it though, like vacuuming! I like the lines.

Who cooks dinner? Mostly me, though he is known to whip together a great meal when we have hardly any food left. I am always amazed!!!

Who drives when you are together? He does, I prefer to be the passenger.

Who is more stubborn? I would say I am.

Who is the first to admit when they're wrong? He is.

Whose parents do you see the most? Mine because we live close by them, however, I love Carter's family and wish they could all live up here too!

Who kissed who first? Carter did of course!

Who proposed? He did. At the time we were in Utah visiting my family. He planned a special date and took me to temple square. He led me to the visitors center up where the Christus is. He was telling me that this is the spot his where his dad proposed to his mom. I was thinking to myself, what a cool spot...the next thing I knew he was on one knee w/ the ring asking if I would marry him. I was in total shock, because I was not expecting it, but of course said YES!!

Who is more sensitive? He is

Who has more siblings? He does by 1...there 2 brothers & 2 sisters. I have 2 brothers & 1 sister.

Who wears the pants in the family? I would say we both have our own leg. Sometimes he's in front, sometimes I am, but most the time we stand side by side.

TAG: I would love all my friends to do this...it was fun!

Happy Halloween!

INTRODUCING....

The Midnight Fairy

Belle

Lil' Cheetah

We had a great Halloween! I will post more pics as soon as I can upload them to the slide show.

Hannah Montana

So we were some of the lucky people able to get Hannah Montana tickets...I seriously can't believe how much these tickets were going for. Thank goodness we were able to buy them the day they went on sale (sold out in an hour) and didn't have to pay the high price that scalpers were asking. The week before the concert she announced she would do another show on Friday night (our tickets were for Sat afternoon) those tickets sold out in 15 minutes!!! Before the show I took the girls over to Gateway to shop for a minute and guess who we ran into? Kenny Ortega...for those of you who don't know who he is, he is the man behind High School Musical director/choreographer) needless to say that was an exciting moment for the me and the girls too, we love HSM! I only wish I had taken a picture. Oh well. I must admit I was just as excited as the girls to see the concert...I enjoy her. :) Here is a clip of her opening number and you can hear all the million little girls screaming their heads off!! It was SO LOUD! Kennedy was a little scared by it.

Outside the arena

Signing a poster for Hannah

So the concert proved to be a little long for Kennedy...she was excited for the Jonas Brothers and Hannah, but fell asleep during Miley's performance. She must have been super tired because it was so loud!!

A Reason

why I love being a mom...

Kennedy: "Mom, I want blonde hair!!"
Me: "You do have blonde hair, it's called Strawberry Blonde."
Kennedy: "But your hair is ice cream. I want to be ice cream blonde."
Me: "When your older you can have any hair color you want. Now go brush your teeth so we can watch Hannah Montana before bedtime".
Kennedy: "Mom, you are the best mom in the whole wold(world)!!"

Another ER Visit

I got word today that Bryton had a mishap on his bike yesterday and went to the ER for stitches and a cast on his hand. Hopefully nothing is broken. He said that they will be able to tell next week and put the cast on as a precaution. What is ironic about that is just earlier this week I was looking at some pics of him when he was six and ran across this pic. We had taken it when he broke his arm after falling out of his grandma's tree and I was thinking how lucky we were that he hadn't had a cast since. ;) hmmm.

Witches Night Out

Last night, I went w/ some of my friends to Witches Night Out at Gardner Village. SO FUN! It is a night of good food and shopping around the village! Typically, most women dress as witches on this night to shop...we decided next year we will be decked out! It is so fun to see all the variety of witches that shop..the good, the bad, and the ugly!
Here we are posing w/ one of the many stuffed witches around the village.
